Infertility Affects your Relationship

Having a baby is one of the most exciting moments in a couple’s life, but for the couples who are struggling with infertility and infertility treatments, conceiving a baby can be a very stressful task. The physical, emotional and financial stress of infertility can hurt your relationship with your partner also.

There are many ways in which you can remain calm and composed, protect your relationship from the potentially damaging stress of infertility:

Avoid Blaming & Keep your relationship healthy

Things can go wrong with either of the partner at any point of time like poor sperm count, motility  or the blocked fallopian tubes etc…

  • Respect and understand your partner:

Remember you two came first, before any thought of a baby. Even if you have a baby, the two of you still needs to maintain a healthy relationship as a couple before you can be good parents.

  • Schedule dates:

On these dates don’t talk or discuss issues related to fertility. Talk with your partner about your thought process. Share things together. Do not be judgmental or intrusive.

  • Bring variations and thrill into sex life:

Do not consider sex for just having a baby. Just having sex on fertile days becomes mechanical.

Take break from work .Consider having sex in different locations , so go for outing , camping  or  plan a trip together.

  • Take a break:

You and your partner can take a break from trying to get pregnant which also reduce the stress and anxiety level and ensure that your sex life will remain a source of pleasure and relaxation.

  • Go for physical activity together:

Exercise is a fabulous stress buster.

Take up any sports activity, dancing, or yoga classes together. It will help you in relaxing and rejuvenating.
